Regretfully OPETH are pulling out of the HUNTERFEST in Poland 12th aug. Despite going through huge logistical problems due to recent events at Heathrow the band are pulling out because the bands deposit and fee was not paid in time as per the contract. Opeth express regret to the fans for doing this but the fault clearly lies with the promoter.

OPETH Pulls Out of Poland's HUNTERFEST - Aug. 11, 2006

Sweden's OPETH has been forced to cancel its previously announced August 12 appearance at the Hunterfest in Poland. A statement from the group reads as follows: Despite going through huge logistical problems due to recent events at Heathrow, the band are pulling out because the bands deposit and fee was not paid in time as per the contract. OPETH express regret to the fans for doing this but the fault clearly lies with the promoter."

As previously reported, the special-edition deluxe version of OPETH's "Ghost Reveries" CD will be released on October 31 via Roadrunner Records. Bonus material on the set will include the band's cover of DEEP PURPLE's "Soldier of Fortune", a 40-minute documentary about the making of the record complete with the band's own private tour footage, the video for "The Grand Conjuration", liner notes, photos, an enhanced 24-page booklet, deluxe sleeve, and 5.1 surround exclusive mix of the record made by original mixed/engineer Jens Bogren.

OPETH recently announced the departure of longtime drummer Martin Lopez. After being plagued by illness and anxiety attacks, Lopez decided he wanted to concentrate fully on his own project, currently unnamed. His replacement will be Martin "Axe" Axenrot, who's been filling in for the last five tours and who also recorded with the band during the recent BBC sessions.
